The past few weeks have been very concerning for me and many others. There has been much controversy over Project Threshold’s funding status and proposals to “restructure” the program. I have been down this road a couple of times with my dad and my grandpa, and every time they were told that their business was going through “restructuring,” they were both let go from their jobs.
With that concern in mind, I want to introduce my counselor, Mrs. Crystal Carter. She has been nothing short of amazing to me and many others just like me. Throughout my time at OU, she has helped me prosper, starting in my freshman year of college, by finding tutors, helping me get supplies for school that I couldn’t get myself, helping me find new friends, and just helping me be the best young black man that I can be.
Without Mrs. Carter, I’m not exactly sure where I would be. She has made college and all of the many stresses that come with it so much easier for me, and I couldn’t thank her enough. If she lost her job, I and many others would be lost.
Mrs. Carter and the other counselors are Project Threshold. Because of her, I am the man that I am today.
